The name of possibly the first baby to ever perform on the Grammys came out today and though it has no discernible meaning, it will be extremely googleable when he starts a music career. M.I.A.’s baby boy is named Ickitt.
Engaged couple Benjamin Brewer and M.I.A. became parents of Ickitt Brewer on February 11. We can’t find any significance for the name, but as one of our readers noted, “I mean, Zappa named Dweezil after his wife’s weird little toe,” so who knows.
*Update* JustJared and Perez got this one wrong. M.I.A. just blogged on her MySpace: “Y “BABY IS NOT CALLED ICKITT, PICKIT OR LICKIT THANK YOU VERY MUCH… I WILL BE BACK WITH SOMETHING NEWS WORTHY SOON , TILL THEN GO PICK ON APPLE, SATCHEL AND MOON UNIT.”
So I guess we weren’t the only ones who thought of Zappa.
