The Stooges’ Iggy Pop gave CNN a tour of his stomping grounds in Miami, FL recently, showing off the surprising locale where the punk rock legend moved to find “a kind of elegant coma.” Included in the tour was a local indie record store, used as a backdrop, called Sweat Records. Well, things have gotten literally sweaty at the shop lately, as their air conditioning unit is busted, and Pop is on the case.
To raise the AC cash, Pop has allowed Sweat Records to sell limited edition t-shirts with his image and he is also the special guest star at an event headlined by Miami band Awesome New Republic.
Perhaps Iggy just wants some AC while he shops or maybe he’s just a good indie music patron, but the folks in Miami-Dade County have a pretty cool neighbor if you ask me.
