For his first starring role in 4 years, singer/Bonnie “Prince” Billy/actor Will Oldham plays an Evangelical Christian who takes an Irish immigrant named Sean, played by Colm O’Leary, under his wing in the wake of Sean’s troubled homecoming following a non-combat tour of duty in Afghanistan. Back in May, I mentioned this film, R. Alverson’s New Jerusalem, and now we have a trailer (via the Playlist), complete with a clip of Oldham belting out a traditional gospel tune.
