Simone Felice to Undergo Emergency Heart Surgery

June 2, 2010

Simone Felice needs our love today as the former Felice Brothers drummer/singer and current Duke & The King frontman is about to undergo emergency open heart surgery in Albany, New York. News of Felice’s illness arrived yesterday afternoon via a note on his band’s Facebook page:

We must tell you all, with a heaviness we cannot convey of the news that our dearest brother Simone Felice has been scheduled for emergency open-heart surgery as a result of Aortic Stenosis. The operation will take place tomorrow at Albany Medical Center. We are devastated, yet hopeful that he will pull through.

Needless to say, all June tour dates have been canceled as we await the outcome of Felice’s major operation. “He loves you all more than you could ever know,” Simi Stone, Bobby Bird, and Nowell Haskins said, “so please send all of your thoughts & prayers Simone’s way.”
