Frightened Rabbit – “My Brother Tom, the Green Beret” (The Philistines Jr. Cover)

The Philistines Jr.’s Peter Katis produced both of Frightened Rabbit’s last two albums, The Midnight Organ Fight and The Winter of Mixed Drinks, from his Tarquin Studios in Bridgeport, Connecticut (where he also helmed the boards for Interpol’s Turn on the Bright Lights, Jónsi’s Go, and The National’s Boxer). Now FR’s Scott Hutchison and the boys have returned the favor by turning in a wonderful take on the Philistines’ “My Brother Tom, the Green Beret” for an upcoming remix/covers record dubbed If a Lot of Bands Play in the Woods…, due out October 19. Preview the original, as well as other cuts from Katis and drummer Adam Pierce’s album, here, and enjoy FR’s (superior) version above.
