Our first listen to Iron & Wine’s self-proclaimed “focused pop record,” Kiss Each Other Clean, arrived this weekend in the form of a Record Store Day/Black Friday release for the single “Walking Far From Home.” Perhaps Sam Beam is following Kanye’s new “NO ACOUSTIC GUITAR IN THE STUDIO” rule, as the unplugged, hushed sonic landscape from much of his previous output has been replaced by a bed of synthesizers and sea of harmony vocals here.
