Kate Bush Reveals “New” Album, ‘Director’s Cut’

When Kate Bush first revealed that new recordings are set for a 2011 release, we were hoping that new songs would be among the lot, but beggars can’t be choosers, I suppose, so I’m still thrilled to hear news of Director’s Cut, a collection of re-recorded classics from the great singer-songwriter. Featuring new performances of songs off solo LPs The Sensual World and The Red Shoes, Director’s Cut will arrive on May 16 via Bush’s label Fish People as well as her former primary label, EMI.

The first “new” single to reach our ears will be a re-recorded take on 1989’s “Deeper Understanding,” due out in April. Check out the tracklist:

01. “Flower of the Mountain” (aka “The Sensual World”)
02. “Song of Solomon”
03. “Deeper Understanding”
04. “Lily”
05. “Red Shoes”
06. “This Woman’s Work”
07. “Moments of Pleasure”
08. “Never Be Mine”
09. “Top of the City”
10. “And So Is Love”
11. “Rubberband Girl”
