The National’s new theme song to the Paul Giamatti-starring film Win Win is not only streaming as an instrumental on the movie’s official site, as we recently reported, but it went public today via Fox Searchlight’s SoundCloud page as well.
According to Matt Berninger, the band wrote the song after watching the film and becoming inspired by director Tom McCarthy’s theme of “very normal and good people trying to do their best.” The result, “Think You Can Wait,” is a gorgeous, brooding composition that plays over the film’s credits. Hear the new National tune, which was produced by Boxer co-producer Peter Katis at Aaron Dessner’s Brooklyn studio and features guest vocals by Sharon Van Etten, at the link above or below.
