Of all the famed auteurs to take part in YouTube/Vevo’s live webcast series so far (Terry Gilliam, Spike Lee, D.A. Pennebaker, etc.), David Lynch’s interpretation of the format is predictably the strangest. Last night, Lynch directed the live stream of a Los Angeles Duran Duran concert, juxtaposing bizarre imagery, props, and even audio snippets to black-and-white performance footage of the English New Wavers unveiling new material. As with much of Lynch’s work, describing the thought-provoking result is no easy feat, so it’s best to check it out for yourself. You can watch his take on “The Man Who Stole A Leopard” (featuring Kelis) above and explore more clips here.
