I was lucky enough to attend two stunning shows by the Laurel Sprengelmeyer-led Montreal outfit Little Scream in Austin last month — one of which was at Waynestock — in addition to an opening set for Sharon Van Etten’s jaw-dropping performance on a rainy day in San Francisco a few weeks ago. As it turns out, our friends at Echolocale caught up with Sprengelmeyer and violinist Ari Swan at a bus stop on that cloudy afternoon for an acoustic take on Richard Reed Parry-produced The Golden Record rocker “Cannons” that just might rival the excellent snowbound acoustic version of “The Heron and the Fox” we heard earlier in the year.
