Watch: The Kills – “The Last Goodbye” (KCRW Session)

Of all the songs off The Kills’ fourth LP, Blood Pressures, we’ve indulged in of late — not to mention that rad reggae medley — I’ve been particularly waiting for the most opportune moment to share “The Last Goodbye,” a piano-backed ballad, which, to these ears, marks Alison Mosshart’s most heartbreaking, singular performance to date. The chemistry between Jamie Hince and VV is undeniable, but something felt just about perfect when Hotel set the guitar down and stepped out of the spotlight for her recent radio take above.
