While lead singer Jónsi focuses on his forthcoming score to Cameron Crowe’s We Bought A Zoo, Sigur Rós have a film project of their own on the way: Inni, a “surprise film event” set to appear at the Venice Film Festival later this month, was first teased via a cryptic trailer posted to the band’s site yesterday. Today, the Playlist reports that live shots in the clip suggesting the release will feature footage from the band’s pro-shot performance in London in 2008 were provided by Vincent Morisset, director of Arcade Fire’s concert set Miroir Noir. And indeed, a cursory search of YouTube turns up a few Morisset-style videos from the aforementioned London gig.
We were hoping for a follow-up to their 2008 LP, Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust, but a beautifully directed (based on the few clips so far) concert should help tide us over until the next epic full-length arrives. Check out two potential glimpses, “Svefn-g-englar” and “Ný batterí,” alongside the Inni trailer below:
“Svefn-g-englar” (Live in London)
