Matt Sweeney’s latest collaboration arrives this month in the form of The Night Visitor, singer-songwriter Anna Ternheim’s excellent fifth LP, which was just released in Europe. In addition to providing production for the 12-track effort, Sweeney recruited Superwolf bandmate Will Oldham to contribute vocals on a few cuts, as well as Ternheim’s fellow Swedish new-folk outfit First Aid Kit for the debut single, “Walking Aimlessly.” You can watch the full band take on that meandering tune here, but above is my preferred live standout: “Black Light Shines,” a hushed, solo acoustic gem that Laura Marling fans should enjoy.
