As Ryan Adams explains in this clip from last night’s Live at Abbey Road, Laura Marling’s sophomore LP became a driving force behind his latest album, Ashes & Fire, when their mutual friend/collaborator Ethan Johns passed it along while he was writing new material. Marling has also been a longtime Adams fan, of course, citing his name in “New Romantic,” the opening track off her 2007 debut EP. Now this mutual appreciation society has finally resulted in a duet: Here’s Marling singing the Emmylou part in Heartbreaker’s “Oh My Sweet Carolina,” live from one of the world’s most famous recording studios.
