One of these days First Aid Kit will stumble on a cover, but today is not that day. In fact, if a collected release is ever in the cards, this one — initially a B-side to the Rolling Stones’ first original single, “The Last Time” — could make a fine B-side, too. “Play With Fire” comes courtesy of last night’s live broadcast for Lauren Laverne’s nod to the Stones’ 50th anniversary. It’s a short-but-sweet dose akin to early Jagger-Richards renditions, consumed best when in need of a 2-minute breather.
