Back in 2002, Jeff Tweedy brought a host of new fans to Bill Fay’s overlooked ’70s output when he covered “Be Not So Fearful” in one of the most poignant moments of the Wilco documentary I Am Trying to Break Your Heart. Now Fay is back to return the favor with a Wilco cover tune on his first proper solo record in 4 decades, Life Is People. Below, hear a piano take on Yankee Hotel Foxtrot‘s “Jesus, Etc.”, in which Fay pares the cut down to moving effect, not unlike what Tweedy did for “Be Not So Fearful.” But the mutual appreciation doesn’t end there: “This World,” an original song recorded for the set as a duet with the Wilco frontman, is also after the jump:
