Local Natives’ sophomore LP is shaping up to be a highlight of 2013, as their collaboration with the National’s Aaron Dessner has proven to be a heady mix of both bands’ respective strengths — if our first two teaser tracks are any indication. October’s taste, “Breakers,” found them poised to fill a few larger rooms with its big chorus swell and rousing, National-esque rhythm section. But, as with that cut, “Heavy Feet” suggests Local Natives have retained the charming enthusiasm and glorious harmonies that made their Gorilla Manor such a refreshingly spirited debut.
