This spring, Sharon Van Etten will play 12 shows with Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, opening for the band on the U.S. leg of their 2013 tour. We’ve been hip to SVE’s stunning voice and original tunes for years now, but today brings another entry point for Cave fans who’ve missed the boat — or just need a fine reason to show up early to those dates: Van Etten singing “People Ain’t No Good,” off 1997’s The Boatman’s Call. (Eddi Front turned in a similarly faithful take on that LP’s “Into My Arms” not long ago.) In short, fellow fans of Sharon and Cave should be very pleased with the her rendition — via Triple J’s Like A Version — at the 1:19 mark above.
