Following time off due to Chan Marshall’s health and financial issues, Cat Power has made a fantastic return to the limelight over the past week. First she dropped a visual love letter to “Manhattan” — both the city and her latest Sun single. A live performance with the Roots on Fallon came a few days later, and now this: “Bully,” a previously unreleased track debuted live on tonight’s Later with Jools Holland. Marshall has a long history of poignant moments on this program, but tonight’s, a heartfelt piano ballad hitting iTunes in studio form at midnight, just might take the cake.
