It’s been over a year since we heard the promising teaser tune “Restless Fugitive” and six months since the album’s title track, “Carry On,” arrived last fall, but Willy Mason’s long-awaited third LP is finally imminent. Due out August 20th via Communion Records, Carry On was produced by Dan Carey (Hot Chip/CSS/M.I.A.), who “was able to make the beats sound so human,” Mason says. “It felt like the tracks were laid and I could kind of let go a bit more.” Along with “Restless Fugitive,” this week’s single is a fine example of the organic result to the pair’s folk-with-programmed-beats collaboration.
