Frightened Rabbit Share New Track, ‘Wildest Moments’ Cover

August 30, 2013

Frightened Rabbit Wildest MomentsApparently we’re not the only ones having a belated moment with Jessie Ware’s “Wildest Moments” these days, as Frightened Rabbit’s Scott Hutchison just happened on the already-pared-down record, too, finding it a good fit for acoustic interpretation. FR’s take for Gigwise seems like an unexpected pop pick at first, par for the course when it comes to one-off covers, but once they get rolling it feels right at home within their brand of earnest melodrama. Even the chords and melody manage to surprise again, despite the 10 or so (okay, I don’t remember how many) times we’ve spun this one. Check out the performance clip above. Meanwhile, Frightened Rabbit’s latest set, Pedestrian Verse, has been kicking around since January, but they’re pushing forward with an EP containing two new tracks due in September. This week’s “Default Blues” is a rousing jam with a lot of promise for the future. Hear it below:
