This Baraboo, Wisconsin band has been on the radar since last year, when their debut EP, Unblushing, arrived with impressively polished session clips for each cut on YouTube. Now PHOX have taken that approach up a notch for Confetti, a 6-track EP featuring even better, more elaborately filmed songs capturing what they’ve dubbed the “domestic, fantastical reality that is born out of winter hibernation.” The whole video-EP is brimming with DIY charm and stunning lead vocals by Monica Martin, but this subdued uke tune, “Barside,” is a personal favorite.
