Following last month’s rousing “Step Out,” more details and a new cut from José González’s soundtrack to The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty have surfaced. In addition to news that “Step Out” features St. Vincent’s Annie Clark, we have word of another notable collaboration on the set: “Stay Alive” — a pensive ballad set to a ticking clock, recorded and performed by González — was written by Ryan Adams. It’s a lovely tune, fine way to bide our time before Adams’ forthcoming record, and one of those unexpected team-ups that make perfect sense in hindsight.
