Stephen Colbert has recruited an impressive lineup for the Colbert Report‘s week in music, booking bands like the Flaming Lips, Santigold, and tonight’s guest, Grizzly Bear, for an event amusingly dubbed StePhest Colbchella. The Flaming Lips alone would make for an exciting show, but we’ve been particularly primed for Grizzly Bear of late, as the quartet broke out two new songs last month and earlier in August that have been on repeat around here ever since. Not only did we get our first live taste of both those cuts — “Yet Again” and “Sleeping Ute” — but they took to the web as well for Veckatimest standout “Two Weeks.” As with all Colbert music episodes, though, the band interview is the most fun. This time he piled the guys into a fake rocking boat, collaborated on some harmonies, talked about his character’s fear of bears, and suggested they tap into the smooth jazz genre market. Without further ado, revisit “Yet Again” below along with the interview (via Audio Perv), while “Sleeping Ute” is above.
