Ryan Adams: “Invisible Riverside” + “New York, New York” (Piano Take)

We’ve heard the first single, “Lucky Now,” a stunning radio take on Iron Maiden, and an intimate clip of Ryan Adams performing the title track, but now comes one more reason you might want to pre-order his comeback record, Ashes & Fire: “Invisible Riverside,” another gorgeous, acoustic-driven jam from the Glyn Johns-produced LP debuted on KCRW over the weekend. Hear the official stream above.

Meanwhile, Adams revisited his 2001 Gold hit “New York, New York” the other day on WNYC, discussing how the song and official video’s coincidental timing with the tragic events of 9/11 unintentionally resonated with people. He then unveiled a rearranged, piano-backed version of the tune that’s simply (pardon the DRA-related pun) heartbreaking. Stream the full interview and performance after the jump.
