Equipped with an appropriate cover of Minutemen’s iconoclastic punk anthem “Themselves,” Neutral Milk Hotel’s Jeff Mangum continued his return to the spotlight tonight with a high-profile, impromptu set at the Occupy Wall Street protest in New York. In addition to his rousing rendition of that tune, Mangum incited the crowd with plenty of Aeroplane favorites (“Holland, 1945,” “Oh Comely,” “Two-Headed Boy,” et al.) as well.
