The Alabama Shakes have come a long way since we happened upon a pair of stunning unreleased tunes over the summer. Now the Athens, AL quartet have released a debut EP, signed to Rough Trade, and taken their live show to venues across the country (including a gig at Jack White’s Third Man Records). Frontwoman Brittany Howard and Co. are destined for even bigger stages in the months to come, so now’s a good time to revel in their humble beginnings with this clip of the band absolutely killing it live in a performance of that first jam to catch these ears: “You Ain’t Alone,” live at Stubb’s in Austin.
