Radiohead on David Bowie Tribute Album? [Updated]

**Update: Pitchfork has gotten word that Radiohead are not slated to appear on this album. It’s unclear why Mick Karn posted about such a project (too early for an announcement?), but for now it seems this isn’t happening. 🙁

Earlier:

It looks like Thom Yorke is going to bring the rest of his band along for his follow-up to Ciao My Shining Star: The Songs of Mark Mulcahy, coming out this fall: According to Mick Karn’s official website (via At Ease), Radiohead will be featured on a David Bowie tribute album, due out in February of next year.

The album, which also features France’s first lady Carla Bruni and Charlotte Gainsbourg, will be the follow-up to this year’s War Child: Heroes charity album. Karn’s site notes that the forthcoming Bowie tribute was due out earlier, but was postponed to February 2010 because “some of the artist’s schedules [were] not permitting an earlier release.”

I don’t have any other details at this time, but one thing is known: this will be awesome.
