At this rate, the Friedberger siblings just might be in the most prolific band of the next 12 months: Speaking to EW’s Music Mix, the Fiery Furnaces’ Matthew Friedberger not only described his ambitious plan to release 8 solo albums and record a new Fiery Furnaces LP before next November, but he revealed that his sister/bandmate, Eleanor, has her own solo record set for 2011, as well.
Friedberger’s first 6 vinyl-only solo records will drop between January and November of next year, followed by 2 bonus LPs for subscribers to the project, dubbed Solos. The first album, a piano-backed set called Napoleonette, was already recorded last month in Michigan. A label-cleared MP3 from that album of the song “Shirley” can be downloaded for free here.
