We’re only two episodes into the A.V. Club’s “Holiday Undercover” series and I’m already struck by the interesting choices artists are making, from the Walkmen’s left-field pick of Lindsey Buckingham’s 1983 hit “Holiday Road” to today’s Brendan Benson performance of Slade’s “Merry Xmas Everybody,” which the UK singles charts in both December (naturally) of 1973 and on into January/February of the following year.
