If you’re planning a trip down under for a few Pavement reunion gigs next year, you could leave a bit early and possibly hear some new material from Joanna Newsom at the Sydney Opera House, Canberra’s Playhouse Theatre, or three other fancy venues on Australia’s East Coast. FasterLouder reports that Newsom and “her band” are set to play the following dates in January:
January 16 – Brisbane, The Tivoli
January 18 – Sydney, Opera House
January 20– Melbourne, The Forum Theatre
January 21 – Canberra, The Playhouse Theatre
January 23 – Wollongong, Anita’s Theatre
Also, we could add this to our new upcoming album speculation series, but we’ll just coyly throw it out there: “Joanna and her band have been working on new music recently but more news on that soon,” Live Guide states in their tour announcement. Sounds like a new record is on the way to me.
