Billy Corgan to Write Book, Contribute to Claire Fercak Novelette [Update]

It’s been five years since he published his first and only book of poetry, Blinking with Fists, but Billy Corgan has somehow found time between discussing C. G. Jung at the NYPL, constructing puppets for Gothageddon episode 2, and recording dozens of songs for the new, free Smashing Pumpkins album/EP collection, Teargarden by Kaleidyscope, to start work on two new literary projects. On his Everything From Here To There blog, Corgan writes:

I am happy to report that I am now lined up to write a new book, and am in the process of finalizing the details of where-when. I share this because, in addition to that book, I am also set to contribute to a novelette with my beautiful friend Claire Fercak, and, in order to find the time to write, I am looking for fresh, creative ways to stay present with EFHTT.com

Fercak, a French author and poet, has previously published The Smashing Pumpkins – Tarantula Box Set, a fictional book about an adolescent girl trapped in The Aeroplane Flies High box set. “She finds herself in some music videos, in the album Adore, Siamese Dream, etc.” Fercak wrote in a detailed description of the book, quipping later that it’s “[a] bit like Alice in Pumpkin Land.”

In other Smashing Pumpkins news, AP reports that Corgan and former bandmates James Iha and D’arcy Wretzky-Brown have settled their respective lawsuits against Virgin Records over royalties and alleged unauthorized use of SP music in promotional deals.

**Update 3:30PM: It looks like the AP may have been a bit presumptuous by reporting that Billy Corgan’s lawsuit with Virgin Records was also settled along with those of Iha and Wrezky-Brown. Corgan posted the following on his Twitter (via HU):

“Unless God signed the papers for me, I don’t remember settling any lawsuits. But God bless whoever thinks I have.”
