Karen O Snags Grammy Nod After Miley Cyrus is Disqualified

There I was thinking last year’s Thom Yorke dissing Miley and Kanye hubbub was a good— albeit pointless—time gone by, but now Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O has stolen that very Disney-ordained dressing room which Yorke refused to visit. In a post on his collaborative “We Love You So” blog, Where the Wild Things Are director Spike Jonze forwarded an email from the soundtrack’s record label to the Internets:

“In an unexpected twist, one of the announced Grammy candidates for Best Song written for a Soundtrack has been disqualified after the fact (Miley Cyris in fact),” Interscope/Geffen/A&M dude Matt LaMotte wrote. “The nomination then goes to the song with the next-highest initial vote count, which is Karen O and the Kids’ ‘All is Love’.” They’re “working on a press release now,” LaMotte adds.

Sorry man, but the word’s already out. Congrats, Karen O and the Kids!
