Gorillaz Film ‘Mad Max’ Style Video in the Mojave Desert

Damon Albarn’s recent revelation that the “nearly finished” Gorillaz LP3, Plastic Beach, features performances by Lou Reed, Snoop Dogg, Mos Def, Barry Gibb, the Horrors, and Bobby Womack got us pretty anxious for an immediate release date. Many speculated, however, that Albarn’s slew of other projects (an opera with Alan Moore, an album with Flea, etc.) might stall our hearing of this epic record for another year.

Good news: According to local Barstow, CA news outlet Desert Dispatch (via Gorillaz-Unofficial), HSI Productions were spotted filming a new “Mad Max style” Gorillaz music video at Calico Ghost Town in the Mojave Desert. Also, an anonymous rep for HSI confirmed that the video will “most likely premiere on music and entertainment television stations early next year.”

Now that some artwork has possibly leaked (see above), Coachella rumors have begun, and a video is in the works, it looks like Plastic Beach may come sooner than we thought.
