Ed O’Brien: Radiohead to Hit the Studio in January 2010

RadioheadWhile Thom Yorke is likely resting after a run of pseudo-liveblogging from the Copenhagen Climate Summit, Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien has grabbed the Dead Air Space reins for a rant about climate change, a special thanks to fans from their recent South American tour, a “10 great films to watch over Xmas” list, and a tease about upcoming Radiohead recording sessions.

“The vibe in the camp is fantastic at present, and we head off into the studio in January to continue on from the work we started last Summer,” O’Brien wrote, echoing a similar statement he made earlier this fall. “I am so genuinely excited about what we’re doing, but for obvious reasons I can’t divulge anything more.. anyway we all love surprises don’t we?” O’Brien goes on to mention the 10-year anniversary of Kid A—which pretty much dominated the “Best of the 00s” lists of late. “[A]lthough hugely proud of that record, it wasn’t a fun place to be,” he recalls.

On a lighter note, O’Brien also lists some of his favorite movies for the upcoming holiday break, including Finding Nemo, Son of Rambow, and his number one pick, Harold and Maude.
