Not only did I have the pleasure of seeing Cat Power perform live with the Dirty Delta Blues Band (Dirty Three’s Jim White, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion’s Judah Bauer, and the Delta 72’s Gregg Foreman) for the first time on Friday night, but the crowd at SF’s Fillmore Auditorium and I were treated to live previews of tunes likely to appear on her forthcoming album, as well. More thoughts on the show are on the way, but for now, check out the night’s stunning opening slow jam above, which hit the Web over the weekend alongside renditions of Billie Holiday’s “Don’t Explain” and “Song to Bobby” with a “These Days” intro. I believe this is a new song… Update: This is a new song, per Cat Power’s record label. Either way, it’s gorgeous, so enjoy (sound improves around the 1:40 mark)!
