Ryan Adams Plots ‘Class Mythology’

While we can’t confirm* Wax Poetic’s report that the next Ryan Adams record will arrive on April 16 as part of this year’s Record Store Day festivities just yet, per an intriguing photo uploaded to Adams’ official Facebook page earlier today (shown left), there does appear to be a vinyl release featuring previously unreleased Cardinals-backed tunes on the way. Dubbed Class Mythology, presumably in reference to the second chapter in his poetry book Infinity Blues, the EP features a B-side called “Invisible Red,” which — according to WP — is one of 4 Cardinology-era “unreleased outtakes” on the double-7” release. Only 2,500 copies are said to be made available, each including a sticker and poster.

We’ll update this post once further details arrive (a spokesperson for Record Store Day told us to keep an eye on their site for details if/when this RSD release is confirmed), but get psyched in the meantime by clicking through the new “Archive Series” label image above. Long live Pax-Am!

*Update: Adams’ publicist confirmed Wax Poetic’s report to our pals at CoS that Class Mythology will arrive on Record Store Day. Also, we now know that “Go Ahead and Rain” is featured on Side A of the EP, via the below image posted on Adams’ Twitter:
