Well, this is big news (at least for Mary-Louise Parker and me). Singer, songwriter, and soon-to-be published novelist Josh Ritter announced the title, release date,and brief description of that “ornate and orchestral” forthcoming album we’ve been talking about, which is now known to be called So Runs the World Away.
In an update on his official site (via Speakers in Code), Ritter writes:
So Runs the World Away took me over a year to make. I’m proud of the fact that I’ve never recorded a song for a record that I didn’t believe in absolutely and that didn’t feel, in its writing, recording, and performance, like a moment of real inspiration.
Though we’ll have to wait until May 4th (or April 23rd if you’re in Ireland) to hear Ritter’s first full-length studio album since 2007’s The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter, the Moscow, Idaho-born singer has given us a free single to enjoy in the meantime.
