Link Bits: Marissa Nadler, Adele, Straylight Run, etc.

Here are a few bookmarks from the queue before we begin regularly [un]scheduled programming…

  • Producer Paul Epworth gave BBC 6 the scoop that Brit School-educated Adele will be getting the Rick Rubin production treatment for the follow-up to her debut album, 19.
  • LA Weekly uncovered an unexpected collaboration between whom Pitchfork calls “misanthropic California black metal auteur” Xasthur and Boston, MA-based anti-folker Marissa Nadler.
  • Straylight Run has run its course, unfortch, announcing that—though it’s “not a break up”—singer John Nolan and company are embarking on an “indefinite hiatus,” which they appropriately revealed via MySpace blog.
  • Finally, I present this Mission Update from NASA without comment: “Astronauts aboard the linked shuttle Endeavour and International Space Station awoke to the song ‘Parabola’ by the band Tool at 4:15 a.m. EST (2115 GMT) for a planned light day in space.”
