Francis Ford Coppola’s granddaughter (and niece to Sofia) sure has burst onto the fashion/music directing scene of late: We just mentioned Non Plus One — a short film starring Kirsten Dunst and Jason Schwartzman that was scored by Schwartzman’s band, Coconut Records — and now Gia Coppola returns with another clip starring musicians/actors/fashion models.
Flavorwire reports that Coppola’s friends in LA-based band the Like star in this promotional video for Zac Posen’s new fashion line at Target. Whereas her last effort channeled Jean-Luc Godard, Coppola was inspired by early Beatles footage for the black and white portion of this video. (The latter half is really just a straight-up music video, complete with a faux-live performance and flashing lights to spare.)
Though I can’t say Coppola has revealed whether she’s inherited the talents of her famous family just yet, there’s undoubtedly huge potential here. Watch Coppola direct The Like here or below:
