Perhaps you haven’t heard that star-crossed singer/songwriters Josh Ritter and Dawn Landes got married about a year ago. Cute, right? We think so, but what’s even more adorbs is that the pair brought DailyCandy into their home for a gorgeous performance of “Southern Pacifica” off Ritter’s new album, So Runs the World Away, his best, IMO, since 2006’s The Animal Years.
Not all husband-wife duos mesh well necessarily, but Ritter and Landes’ voices are a perfect match, a la many classic musical couples, such as Richard and Linda Thompson or James Taylor and Carly Simon. In fact, the latter couple immediately sprang to mind when I saw this video as the pair once teamed up for a similar performance in what I believe is their home studio.
