Golden Globe Nods: Bruce, Cyrus, Beyonce, Cullum, Gabriel, and Eastwood

That’s right, Clint Eastwood. Actually, Clint Eastwood’s son Kyle is also nominated for the song “Gran Torino,” from the movie of the same name. Jamie Cullum also has a credit for “Gran Torino,” as I heard recently Clint called him up personally to request his involvement in the soundtrack to the film.

Bruce Springsteen is en route for lots of awards for his song “The Wrestler,” his first big movie award show song since oscar-winner, “Streets of Philadelphia.”

The Miley Cyrus nomination for “I Thought I Lost You,” is a bit of surprise because Jenny Lewis’ song from Bolt, “Barking at the Moon, was considered a possible indie music triumph (a la last year’s “Falling Slowly” from Once), but there’s still time for an Oscar nod.

Beyonce was nominated along with 5 others for “Once in a Lifetime,” from Cadillac Records and Peter Gabriel got a somewhat inevitable nomination for Wall-E’s “Down to Earth.”
