Back in February, I pointed to an all-too-brief snippet of the “new” Fiona Apple track “So Sleepy,” which features lyrics written by kids at LA-based nonprofit 826LA for their forthcoming benefit album, Chickens In Love. Since then, track collaborators the Punch Brothers have announced a new album, produced by “So Sleepy” co-conspirator Jon Brion while it has remained all quiet on the Apple front. Well, we can now hear the full new track, complete with brilliant, A-game production/arrangement from Brion. Begs the question: Is there a new Brion-produced Fiona Apple record on the way?
