Harvard Law Professor and Students Back in Court to Defend Against RIAA

Harvard Professor Charles Nesson and his team of law students return to Rhode Island Federal Court tomorrow to argue on the behalf of Joel Tenenbaum, reports ZeroPaid.  Tenenbaum, a 24-year-old Boston University student, is accused by the RIAA of offering 7 songs for download via file sharing in 2004 and is being sued by the organization for $1,050,000. That’s $150,000 per song, folks.

Tomorrow’s hearing focuses on “the RIAA’s motion to compel a response to a subpoena requiring Joel’s parents, Arthur and Judie Tenenbaum, to have their home PC inspected for evidence of copyright infringement.  The parents have noted that the PC in question is neither the one on which the alleged illegal downloading took place nor did they even own it while Joel was living with them.”

We’ll post updates on this story as it progresses.
