We saw Lissie perform alt-country Metallica and Lady Gaga covers, as well as her own song “Everywhere I Go” as a duet, but the Los Angeles (by way of Illinois) singer/songwriter has one more pro-shot video to share ahead of the release of her debut LP, Catching a Tiger, next week. Closing out her set at the Brighton Great Escape in May, Lissie took a swig of tequila before tackling Kid Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness.” Once again, she takes on the daunting task of making a relatively different music style her own without resting on a hint of irony. In fact, this rendition could exemplify what’s so stunning about Lissie: she’s willing to risk a humiliating, failed performance in exchange for a shot at greatness, every single time. Guess what?
