Perhaps their first single and demo-scored video haven’t grabbed your attention yet, but Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin’s (almost too) adorbs “The Making of Let It Sway” video is sure to make you regret missing those first two previews. This thing is twee city: “I showed it to my mom and it made her laugh and cry,” wrote Phil Dickey in a message to their mailing list, “so I think you’ll like it.”
Though I’m not entirely sure why his mom wept over behind-the-scenes shots of Death Cab’s Chris Walla (who recorded the album with Beau Sorenson) or Will Knauer’s catching a bout of mono amid sessions, the 5-minute “documentary” is beautifully edited, scored (with new songs), undeniably endearing, and perfect for the summer.
