Steven Adler Praises Slash and Axl Rose

Steven Adler, the former drummer for Guns N’ Roses and co-star on VH1’s Sober House, has nothing but love for Slash and Axl Rose, who were once forced to throw him out of their hugely successful band due to drug problems.

In an interview with San Francisco’s Live 105, Adler responded to claims that Axl Rose is a mean person. “No, he’s not,” Adler said. “He’s very temperamental, but he’s a wonderful, loving guy. He really is… We had such great moments in our lives together. No matter what happens, we’ll still have that and I’ll always have respect.”

Adler, who has been in and out of rehab for many years, was recently arrested for breaking his parole. Last week a judge ordered him to check back into rehab by today, February 9. Though he has had difficulty staying clean, Adler cited Slash as the reason that he first started trying to recover from his drug addictions.

His relationship with Slash, Adler said, was his inspiration for getting sober. “I wanted my relationship back with him. He’s been sober for almost 3 years and if that a**hole can do it, I can do it…He just came to me when I was down, down and showed me his love for me and I didn’t want to let him down.”
