Those curious to check out Flaming Lips axeman Steven Drozd and Tool/A Perfect Circle’s Maynard James Keenan cover Elton John, as well as the documentary the track was recorded for, The Heart Is A Drum Machine, are in luck as the latter is streaming on Netflix and the former is streaming on the official site of Keenan’s side project, Puscifer.
I haven’t caught the film just yet, but Antiquiet says it was a bit underwhelming and I tend to agree with those dudes (not to mention the cover isn’t even in the movie). Either way, this ethereal take on John and Bernie Taupin’s classic “Rocket Man” is surprisingly good — during the choruses in particular.
