Republicans Use Aerosmith Song to Rally Behind Stimulus Vote

When the U.S. House of Representatives voted on President Obama’s proposed stimulus plan, Republicans unanimously voted against it in what some said was a unifying move for the party. The House GOP decided that even though they failed at blocking the stimulus plan, their stand against it needed a theme song. Enter Aerosmith’s “Back In The Saddle.”

Minority Whip Eric Cantor posted a YouTube video, rallying Republicans with an Aerosmith soundtrack. In the video, text scrolls across the screen with Cantor’s objections to the stimulus plan as Joe Perry’s guitar screams. Finally the message, “0 House Republicans Voted for the Democrats’ Wasteful Spending Bill,” appears on the screen while Steven Tyler wails, “I’m back in the saddle again.”
