Taylor Momsen Reveals Band Name, Album/Tour Plans

Since last year, Gossip Girl’s Taylor Momsen has been telling friends and hinting to the media that her true passion is not acting, but music. Back in December, her friends said that she was inspired by a New York City Blondie concert to start her own band.

Well, Momsen has not only confirmed the rumors, but has leaked the band’s name, a planned 2009 album release, and a tour in April. “We’re called The Reckless,” Momsen told Teen Vogue at Jen Kao’s Fall Fashion Week. “We’re going to put out our album this year and hopefully starting a tour around April.” She also said that she is singing, playing guitar, and other instruments in The Reckless. Momsen had trouble describing the style of her music, saying it’s “kind of dark, a little bit heavier, but we have our lighter, fun stuff too.”

Fellow Gossip Girl actress Leighton Meester has also said she plans to put an album out in 2009, which she described as “edgy, like electro-pop rather than bubblegum, and you can dance to it.”
